CHICAGO GIG RAISES A GRAND. We are pleased to report that the Medical Fund has received a check for $1,000 from the Souled Out band, proceeds from the Nov. 17 benefit gig at Joe's Sports Bar in Chicago featuring the Ro ro mato and T-N-T bands. Thanks to Dakota Binanti and all the members of the Souled Out band, and thanks to Dave Cacioppo and all the Jilly's girls for making this event possible! [Posted 12/30/02]

Buy a souvenir T-shirt to benefit Rocco's Medical FundHBO DONATES TO ROCCO. HBO has generously donated some great memorabilia from its hit TV show, The Sopranos, to be auctioned for Rocco's benefit. Included is a baseball cap autographed by every member of the cast, DVDs of all the episodes from the first three seasons, and a Sopranos baseball jersey. Leslie Yngojo Bowes (spouse of former Tower of Power vocalist Tom Bowes) made the arrangements for this donation. These items were auctioned on eBay and raised $405 for the Medical Fund. JACO PASTORIUS 7 CD SET ON EBAY. A retail record merchant in Brooklyn, New York (who wishes to remain anonymous) has donated 10 copies of the complete Jaco Pastorius 7 CD set. All proceeds from this auction go to Rocco's medical fund. The first six sets have been successfully auctioned to bidders all over the United States. The CD sets are being auctioned one at a time to enable everyone to have the opportunity to bid on one of these sets. Will Lee at the Sept. 23 benefit gig - Photo by Bob BurchfieldLE BAR BAT HITS A HOMER FOR ROCCO. On September 23, 2002, at Le Bar Bat in New York, NY, some 35 musicians played their hearts out for 4 1/2 hours to benefit the Medical Fund! More than $11,000 was raised for Rocco in one night! Headliners were Lenny Pickett of NBC's Saturday Night Live and Will Lee (see photo at right), bass guitarist in the CBS Orchestra (Late Night with David Letterman). Also present were eleven former members of Rocco's band, Tower of Power. Thanks to Funk Filharmonik and their bandleader, Lee Finkelstein, for putting this great night together! [Posted 09/24/02.]
